Pop Art

Pop Art is an art movement which was started in the 1950s in Britain and the United States. The main artists including Andy Warhole and Roy Lichtenstein and known for its bright colours and uniqueness.

This is called the "crying Girl' and was made in 1964 by Roy Lichtenstein. This is one of my favourite styles of Pop Art as its made up of lots of spots. I love that there are only three colours within this picture as they stand out a lot more. The black outlines make the whole picture bold and stronger.

Marilyn Monroe was painted by Andy Warhol who was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement Pop Art. Marilyn has been painted nine times but one being in real-life colours then the rest of the pictures the colours have been changed up.

Another by Roy Lichtensein Its a person holding a thunderbolt, the contrasting colours emphasises the thunderbolt. This is painted with oil and magna on a canvas.
