Gap Year

I have been thinking about my gap year a lot because I want to be able to achieve things I wouldn't normally have time to do. One of my ideas which I have been researching a lot into is the classic travelling around the world. I have always been an explorer, going to places I've never been, and learning about new cultures. I would do this with my life time best friend, we are planning to go to tourist places like New York, Paris, and Las Vegas but also countries where we can explore and find unique places which isn't rated as much as it should be like India, Africa and Singapore.

This will hopefully happen in a few year when we have saved as much money as we can so we can try and do all the things we want to do without worrying about the money side of things. I will gain many skills, and I will learn and get a feel for other cultures, I will also be able to compare it to our own. One of the best parts is that I will be able to make lots of friends from this experience from all around the world. This will be a big learning experience for me because I will learn about planning, how to organise trips, and gain on my social skills.

I will have to be very organised to make sure I get on the right flights in plenty of time, I will need to plan and organise the money side of things to ensure I have enough money for each day. I will need to research and sort out the adventures and sightings I would like to see and do, also I will need to research into sorting out my visa and passports. I will build many skills and experiences which would look really good on my CV because it makes me look like I am multi talented and it will show businesses and companies that I am willing to learn, try new things and that I work hard to achieve as much as I can in the time given.

I have always wanted to spend a year based on my blog, and growing my audience, attending events and working with companies to promote their products. I will try to write a blog post every week day and travel to events around the world which will get my blog out there. Events including blogger/ press days, company launches, cat walks, and meet ups.

After a while of blogging every week day, I will allow adverts to be place on my blog so I will earn a little money on the side to help for products and fashion to feature on my blog, another way I will carry on by making money is by receiving products, clothes from companies whom will give me money for getting their products out there.

I will need to work hard to make sure I upload high quality content to keep my readers interested. I will need to acquire and improve on my skills like my design, photography, writing, and social skills. I also need to develop my fashion and textile skills so I can pass this onto my readers. I need good social skills and I need to build up contacts to help me to do projects like bringing out my own book to do with my blog, interior design and fashion so If I were to take a year to blog I would like to bring out my own book too.

My third gap year idea is to volunteer in Africa. It has always been a country which has been very interesting to me I love their culture and how they live is so different to here in the UK. I will help build orphanages, once finished I hope to volunteer there to help get the orphanage up and running, I will teach, play and help the children to succeed in life. I will feel happy that I will have helped children in need to live life to the fullest and enjoy every part of it whilst learning along the way.

This would give both me and the African children confidence. As well as that, I would meet new people and make friends from around the world which I could stay in contact with via PenPals. I can help communities who need a little help to make their quality of life better so they are happier and healthier. To achieve this I will need to gain a few skills, like basic carpentry and basic sign language which could help me for when their is language barriers. I will need to do a lot of research on how and where a outs I can do this.

A gap year can look really good on a CV because it can show your commitment to something also it can share that you like to help people, which shows your social skills are good. It means that I can show companies that I can learn fast and that I am willing to try new things.
